Community Effort to Earn is No Folly

I love to hear stories of community groups who work together to earn income. Recently I was encouraged to read of the folks in the Old Folly community in Discovery Bay, St. Ann who have been engaged in income-generating activities such as farming, block making, sewing and chicken and pig rearing.
I particularly admired the fact that many of the youth in Old Folly were actively involved in the entrepreneurial pursuits. They also received invaluable assistance for their project from the business community through Noranda Jamaica Bauxite Partners.
I would definitely want to visit this Jamaican treasure where the community members were all co-operating in an effort to better themselves!
